You’ve been following the extension work at Dalslands Studio for a while now and know how things are progressing. Now it’s time for the next step: before the cold weather sets in, I’m going to winterise the room extension in the studio building so that I can carry on with the interior work over the coming months.
The new small, accessible flat with a double bedroom is slowly taking shape. It will feature a shower with a toilet and a small kitchenette. The water pipes are already running into the room – which is why it’s particularly important to protect it from the cold in good time.

The front door and windows are in place
The front door has now been fitted, as have the windows. All that’s missing is the glazed patio door. This will let light into the room and provide access to the patio. I hope it will be delivered before the first frost.
But don’t worry: in the meantime, I’ve temporarily insulated the opening with glass wool and an old door. That means the rest of the build doesn’t have to wait for the delivery.
My winter project is all set
So at the moment, the main priority is to enclose the building and create the conditions for working inside. After that, I can turn my attention, step by step, to the new room, the bathroom and the small kitchen.
As you can see, work is continuing, and my winter project is all set. Over the next few months, the shell of the building will be transformed into a space where you’ll feel at home later on.
